COVID-19 in Pregnancy Update – 11/4/2020

The CDC is reporting, based on an MMWR study, that pregnant women who contract COVID-19 during pregnancy are at increased risk. These risks include higher rates for ICU admission, need for a ventilator or ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation), and death compared to non-pregnant women. There are still many unknowns. Please stay safe and do your best to minimize exposure risk. The COVID-19 rates are currently rising. We recommend frequent hand-washing, mask use in public, and avoiding unnecessary travel or large gatherings.
